Red lentils add a plant-based protein boost to this wholesome smoothie. For a vegan-friendly option, simply swap the dairy milk for unsweetened coconut or almond milk—both blend beautifully while keeping the texture smooth and creamy.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • ½ cup cooked red lentils
  • ½ cup nonfat milk
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup

 

Directions

Combine banana, lentils, milk, cocoa and syrup in a blender. Puree until smooth.
