Faces of Rushcutter’s Bay: Lou Murray
How long have you lived worked in the area?
I’ve lived in Rushcutters Bay for 8 years now. I moved here from South West Victoria to explore my working options and to enjoy the Sydney beaches and weather!
What type of business do you run?
I provide massage at Rushcutters Health and to Elite athletes like the Australian Rugby 7’s. I have an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy and provide a variety of modalities including sports deep/soft tissue massage, myofascial release, dry needling and cupping.
What do you like most about your job?
I love helping those in pain, restricted in their day to day activities, get relief and back to what they enjoy doing most. To be able to put a smile on someone face is an ultimate buzz.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration from my family, friends and the general community at Rushcutters Health. The positivity amongst trainers drives me to be a better person and therapist.
How do you like to exercise?
I’ve grown up a lover of sport; I’ve played high level netball and athletics. Unfortunately, I suffered many injuries too, hence why I wanted to work in this field. Currently I hit the gym, spin class at Vicious Cycle, tennis, Oz tag and love snowboarding and walk as often as I can.
What are some of your favourite restaurants and cafés to hang out in?
My favourite restaurants in this area have to be Farmhouse Kings Cross, The Apollo Potts Point, classic Italian at Vino E Cucina Paddington, Chin Chin Surry Hills and I think the best coffee is LOT 19 Cafe Rushcutters Bay. Also you can’t beat the Saturday morning Kings Cross organic food market for your fruit, veggies and delicious treats.
